A new open-access dataset has been released within the framework of the EXCELLEND ERA Chair project, providing comprehensive experimental measurements from a laboratory water-to-water heat pump equipped with a vapor injection scroll compressor and economizer heat exchanger, operating with the low-global warming potential (GWP) refrigerant R454C.
The experimental campaign was conducted at the National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos” (NCSRD), Greece, to investigate the effects of compressor speed, heat source temperature, evaporator superheat, and economizer superheat on the thermodynamic performance and efficiency of the heat pump.
The dataset comprises steady-state operating points obtained under controlled laboratory conditions and includes detailed measurements of the water circuits, refrigerant cycle, compressor operation, refrigerant mass flow rates, and key performance indicators. These high-quality experimental data provide a valuable resource for model validation, reproducibility studies, and the development of advanced heat pump technologies.
By making these measurements openly available, the EXCELLEND project continues to promote open science, transparency, and collaboration within the sustainable energy research community.
The dataset is publicly available in Zenodo and can be accessed here: https://zenodo.org/records/20831839
