On 6 March 2026, EXCELLEND had the pleasure of hosting representatives from the Centre for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving (CRES) at NCSR “Demokritos”, fostering dialogue on ongoing research activities and potential collaboration in the field of renewable energy.

Dr. Vasiliki Drosou, Head of Solar Systems (Thermal & Photovoltaic), Storage and Hydroelectric Power at the Solar Thermal Systems Department of the Division of Renewable Energy Sources, and Ms. Aphrodite Kakagia, Agricultural Scientist, visited the Excellend team.

During their visit, the CRES representatives met with Dr. George Kosmadakis, Dr. Emmanouil Mathioulakis, and Dr. Erika Ntavou at the Solar & Other Energy Systems Laboratory (SESL) of the Institute of Nuclear & Radiological Sciences & Technology, Energy & Safety at NCSR Demokritos.

The meeting provided an opportunity for a productive exchange of knowledge on current research activities in solar energy systems and related technologies. Discussions focused on identifying potential synergies within the framework of the EXCELLEND project, both at the level of SESL and across the EXCELLEND research team.

The visit highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration between national research organisations in Greece to support the development of integrated and sustainable energy solutions. Such interactions contribute to knowledge sharing, enhance research impact, and foster the development of joint initiatives in renewable energy technologies.
