The kick-off meeting for the EXCELLEND project, held on 14 March 2025, officially marked the start of the project’s implementation phase. The meeting brought together the leaders of the project’s core work packages, the Prof. G. Tsatsaronis, Dr. George Kosmadakis and Dr. Katerina Tzortzatou, to establish priorities and coordinate the first phase of activities.

The discussions focused on defining the immediate actions required to successfully launch the project. Key priorities included planning the recruitment process for new personnel, initiating the structural developments necessary for the establishment of the Centre of Excellence, and coordinating the implementation of the project’s early administrative and operational activities.

A major outcome of the meeting was the development of a detailed work plan for the first six months of the project. The agreed roadmap outlines the sequence of activities, responsibilities of the different work packages, and the milestones required to ensure that the project progresses according to schedule.

As EXCELLEND moves into its initial implementation phase, the decisions made during the kick-off meeting provide the foundation for achieving the project’s long-term objectives. The planned recruitment activities, organizational development, and coordinated work package implementation will play a key role in establishing the Centre of Excellence as a hub for innovative energy research and interdisciplinary collaboration.
