On 14 July 2025, the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) welcomed Prof. George Tsatsaronis, EXCELLEND’s ERA Chair Holder, and Dr. George Kosmadakis, the project coordinator, for a visit to the Thermal Engineering Department of the School of Mechanical Engineering. The visit formed part of EXCELLEND’s ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration with leading academic institutions and advance interdisciplinary research and innovation in sustainable energy systems.

The visit provided an opportunity to meet with researchers, academic staff, and laboratory personnel, fostering dialogue on current research activities and identifying areas of mutual scientific interest. As part of the visit, the EXCELLEND representatives toured several laboratories and experimental facilities, gaining first-hand insight into NTUA’s research infrastructure and ongoing work in thermal engineering and energy technologies.

The discussions highlighted the complementary expertise of the two institutions and identified several promising areas for future collaboration. Potential topics include advanced energy systems, thermal engineering, energy efficiency, sustainable energy technologies, and other interdisciplinary research activities that align with EXCELLEND’s scientific objectives.

The positive outcome of the visit confirmed a shared commitment to strengthening scientific cooperation between EXCELLEND and NTUA. Follow-up discussions are expected to further define collaborative activities and explore opportunities for joint research initiatives.
