Prof. George Tsatsaronis Shares Valuable Insights on 50 Years of Energy Engineering at NCSR Demokritos Summer School

On 11 July 2025, Prof. George Tsatsaronis delivered a lecture on the “Developments in Energy Engineering over the last 50 years”, at the 60th Summer School of NCSR Demokritos,  offering participants a comprehensive overview of the technological progress, scientific milestones, and emerging challenges that have shaped the evolution of modern energy engineering. 

The lecture explored the transformation of energy systems over the past five decades, including advances in energy conversion technologies, improvements in efficiency, the integration of renewable energy sources, and the growing importance of sustainability and decarbonization. It also highlighted the role of innovation and interdisciplinary research in addressing today’s energy challenges and supporting the transition toward more resilient and sustainable energy systems.

By contributing to the Summer School programme, EXCELLEND strengthens its role in promoting knowledge transfer, academic excellence, and collaboration within the research community. The event provided an opportunity for students, early-career researchers, and scientists from different disciplines to engage with internationally recognized expertise and gain insights into the evolution and future direction of energy engineering.
